Inquest into the Death of Jeffery James
More that three years after his death after five days in four-point restraint at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, the inquest into the death of Jeffrey James is on-going before Dr. Bert Lauwers, Deputy Chief Coroner. The inquiry has heard from Dr. Michael Pollanen that Mr. James died because being restrained led to the formation of blood clots that blocked the vessels in his lungs (for the same reason that if you are on a long flight you need to walk around). He wasn't the first to die in restraints and he wasn't the last. Makes me think twice every time I hear CAMH's slogan "Transforming Lives".

How many times have we been done this road before?
I knew Jeffery James and to read all this stuff they said about him, makes me sick to my stomach. He was a very good man that loved his family and his children. The CAMH should be shut down or tougher laws in to be in place to protect these patients.
